  • Overview

    The Desktop Support Associate is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day work activity associated with managing and processing IT hardware distributed to the end user population. This position is responsible for provisioning tablets, laptops, and other mobile devices, which include imaging, encrypting, and credentialing.   Other duties consist of prepping new hire bundles, processing equipment intake, testing and repairing equipment.  The IT Manage Engine ticketing system is used to create and process work order tickets. 


    • Supports equipment and office moves and equipment configuration changes as required;
    • Image, encrypt, and credential equipment for end-user population;
    • Test and troubleshoot tablets, laptops, and other hardware used by associates and other entities;
    • Perform repairs to all tablets and laptops used by employees and other entities;
    • Performs tablet and laptop system deployments including hardware and software configuration in support of the business needs;
    • Works pro-actively with Human Resources, the Business Units and Privacy and Security to On-board new employees, create accounts, and order hardware and computer peripheral;
    • Assist in maintaining inventory of tablets and laptops for field and internal employees;
    • Supports equipment and office moves and equipment configuration changes as required;
    • Active Directory and Network Password Resets, and provisioning as needed;
    • Performs system setup and deployments, as well as software installation, configuration and troubleshooting on Windows;
    • Documents system problems and resolution for future reference;
    • Maintains technical documentation related to the configuration of components (i.e. hardware, operating system, applications, management tools, etc.) including installation and troubleshooting instructions for each; and
    • Assist in other areas as assigned.


    Education and Training: 

    • Equivalent course work or High School Diploma – or – HS degree with at least 1-2 years of experience required, Associates Degree preferred;
    • At least two years hands-on support experience with desktop support technologies including:  Windows 7,8, 10, and Microsoft software applications.

    Work Experience:

    • One to two years of industry and system experience/working knowledge of Windows operating systems;
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
    • Must have excellent customer service skills, the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees;
    • Professional appearance, punctuality and a sense of urgency is absolutely required;
    • Detail oriented, a team player and has the ability work on multiple projects, prioritize and meet deadlines;
    • Must be computer literate and have experience using office tools including MS office;
    • Individual must be well-organized;
    • Ability to lift up to 50lbs is required.
