  • Overview

    Inovalon is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) responsible for developing functional and performance test software and for providing automated testing services in support of development efforts. The engineer will be a part of the scrum team and will be responsible for Test Driven Development Solutions. The engineer will be responsible for validating Inovalon software products, on our supported operating systems and hardware platforms through exploratory and advanced automation testing strategies. We represent the customer perspective and drive product quality and testing efficiency throughout the SDLC.

     

    We are looking for an engineer that will test data processing stacks and DevOps capability to simulate complex scenarios. As a Software Developer in our Test Engineering team, you will use your Full-Stack development knowledge to ensure that a high quality & a robust product are being delivered to the customer. This position requires that the candidate have prior experience in developing functional and performance test solutions and has demonstrated the ability to translate test results into key findings. He or she would be a highly motivated, organized and detail oriented individual with excellent communication and documentation skills. He or she should understand the role of testing within the software development life cycle and business-related project constraints, and effectively advocate for the best possible customer experience of product quality.

    Responsibilities

     

    • Write automated tests in various tools/languages (Cucumber, Gherkin, Selenium, JMeter, Python and Java);
    • Own automated test coverage for one or more product(s) assigned to;
    • Execute test driven development tests in partnership with the software engineers and present results to the stakeholders;
    • Contribute to and validate acceptance criteria;
    • Contribute to story work estimates and sprint commitments;
    • Create data models that mimic “real” data to simulate tests;
    • Alert sprint team to deviations from standards, and recommend alternatives that would lead to a more optimal user experience;
    • Act as a subject matter expert for test automation and possibly some development tools/principles;
    • Participate in industry and other professional networks to ensure awareness of industry standards, trends and best practices in order to strengthen organizational and technical knowledge;
    • Develop effective relationships within and among departments and other Agile team members.

    Qualifications

     

    • 3+ years of Relational Database Management System (Oracle, SQL, MySQL) SQL and Data Validation;
    • 3+ years of experience with Big Data is highly desired;
    • 2+ years of experience with Hadoop, Hive, and Spark is highly desired;
    • Experience working with Informatica ETL tool is highly desired;
    • 3+ years of Test Automation Development experience with open source and market-leading vended solutions creating functional, regression, or performance tests;
    • 3+ years of manual & automation testing experience of N-tier applications;
    • 2+ years of software development experience in Java and/or Python;
    • 2+ years of experience with Agile Scrum;
    • Understanding of Performance Testing preferred;
    • Functional Test Automation (e.g. Shell Scripting, Selenium);
    • Knowledge of SQL/ Web Services technologies including REST API is desired;
    • Continuous Integration tools (e.g. Jenkins);
    • SAFe Planning tool (e.g. Microsoft Azure DevOps (VSTS));
    • Source Code Management Tools (e.g. Git, TFS, RTC);
    • IDE (e.g. Eclipse, Visual Studio, Xcode, Android Studio);
    • Performance Testing Tools (e.g. JMeter);
    • Strong technical and analytical skills;
    • Must possess strong organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written;
    • Ability to work both independently and effectively in teams;
    • Candidates must demonstrate a strong attention to detail;
    • Experience in Onsite/Offshore model.

    Education:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field or 3+ years of relevant work experience required.
