We are actively hiring technical professionals to join our tight-knit team in our headquarters location in Bowie, MD.


    The Business Analyst will gather & define business requirements, data validation and analysis, and client delivery related assistance in support of SAFHIRE product priorities and vision. As an Inovalon Business Analyst, you will become a key player in ensuring our continued success as part of a team of diverse individuals who are developing and rolling-out new product offerings to our clients.  You will work collaboratively in our fast paced environment on duties, often in a cross-functional capacity that may be inclusive of product development, operations, data analytics, reporting, documentation and execution-related assistance in support of member and provider-directed interventions. From demonstrating ability to work independently and good technical skills, strong analytical and problem solving skills, the Business Analyst will support the product technology, product operations and provide value across, and gain exposure to, the SAFHIRE product and the multiple Inovalon components it touches.


    • Develop & create business requirements for Agile development teams;
    • Support business development opportunities in the expansion of product features and services;
    • Build, test and report on business user acceptance test cases;
    • Perform complex data analysis, including production of queries, in support of ad-hoc and standing management or customer requests;
    • Utilize and apply T-SQL and other data analysis tools to develop insights into health care outcomes and the drivers of such outcomes;
    • Perform analytics on a relational datasets to identify root causes, patterns, trends and recommend solutions;
    • Assemble data analytical input, including charts, tables, graphs, and other analysis for executive-level presentations and client reporting;
    • Develop appropriate methodologies for collecting, analyzing and presenting data products;
    • Develop and refine specifications for core features of quality improvement product to generate key performance indicators;
    • Support client relationships by actively working with internal product teams and client services to provide client product updates, presentations and demos;
    • Liaise with the Operations and IT departments to prepare external product release notifications;
    • Manage external product documentation such as service guides, user guides, and other collateral materials; and 
    • Support product development activities by tracking product backlog and roadmap.


    • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Engineering, Health Science, or equivalent;
    • 2+ years of business analysis experience;
    • 2+ years of SQL experience & designing and conducting user acceptance testing preferred;
    • Possess agile software development methodology experience;
    • Healthcare data experience preferred;
    • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to understand the company’s products and process;
    • Ability to set priorities and work on multiple tasks simultaneously. Work under minimal supervision on complex projects;
    • Knowledge of MS Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint and Visual Studio Team Foundation Server (TFS) is preferred;
    • Professionally skilled in personal presentation, verbal, and written communication; and
    • Possess meticulous organizational skills.
