  • Overview

    The Telecom Engineer II will provide assistance in all aspects of maintaining, configuring and sustaining the Cisco VoIP network, including: network design, implementation, maintenance of existing networks, upgrading/configuration and installation of Cisco hardware. In addition, the Administrator will utilize a broad knowledge of network communications and local area network/wide area network (LAN/WAN) operations to ensure optimum configuration and operation of all related systems.


    • Provide leadership for evaluating, adopting, and implementing new VoIP products or services, as well as the technical resources required to manage them.
    • Train and mentor engineers and other members of the telecommunications department
    • Responsible for all aspects of maintaining, configuring, and sustaining the Cisco VoIP network.
    • Analyzes business requirements in order to design and implement an infrastructure solution using Cisco technologies
    • Designs, optimizes, implements and troubleshoots Cisco Unified Communication Solutions including Call Processing, Voicemail, Voice Gateways and LAN/WAN infrastructure
    • Delivers related Network Engineering services associated with the planning, deployment, installation, administration, and management of data and VoIP networks
    • Performs other related duties as required.


    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or other relevant field required. Other relevant education and/or experience may be substituted;
    • Minimum of 5 years related experience directly responsible for the following:
      • Unified Communications Manager, 6.x through 8.x;
      • Unity Connection and Unity Unified Messaging (w/Exchange); 
      • IP Contact Center Enterprise;
      • Voice Gateways (analog, digital and SIP) and dial plan design;
      • Quality of Service (Campus and WAN);
      • Routing and switching; and
      • Certification Prefered: Voice Cisco Certified Voice Professional (CCNA)
      • knowledge of Contact Center environment and strong project management skills are essential.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with all levels of personnel both internally and externally; e.g. leadership, executives, clients, vendors, and agencies;
    • Ability to provide support & off hours& for operational issues as required;
    • Document successful implementation techniques based on industry established best practices;
    • Demonstrated strong and current technical experience of VoIP technologies, business continuity, and disaster recovery processes as they pertain to voice services;
    • Expert levels of problem solving and analytical ability to analyze complex, detailed voice configurations, and manage same on a day to day basis;
    • Outstanding verbal and written communications skills;
    • Requires diplomacy, facilitation skills, and the ability to manage conflict; and
    • Current and demonstrated understanding of the business processes / constraints and ability to anticipate and plan for changing needs.
