    We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Corporate Counsel to join our exciting legal team.  The role will advise on a wide range of employment law-related issues and may also manage/handle litigation matters. Reporting directly to the Chief Legal Officer, the position will be located in Bowie, Maryland. This is a great opportunity to join an in-house legal team in a fast-paced, energizing environment.



    • Provide legal advice and counsel to key partners in Human Resources and other cross-functional stakeholders regarding diversity, wage and hour issues, equal pay, contingent workforce matters, employee benefits and compensation programs, leaves of absence and accommodations, as well as other substantive employment law areas;
    • Design, manage and implement employment law-related projects and programs, including policy creation and implementation, creation and delivery of training programs, and oversight of monitoring processes;
    • Monitor legislation, regulations, case law, and government enforcement activities relating to the above substantive legal areas, and provide proactive, strategic advice to relevant stakeholders;
    • Manage and/or provide support on pre-litigation and litigation matters relating to the above substantive legal areas;
    • Draft and edit employment-related documents and processes;
    • Manage and/or support handling of diverse portfolio of litigation matters as well as matters in arbitration and mediation;
    • Oversee litigation support activities such as e-discovery, data collection and processing;
    • Work with other Inovalon stakeholders (HR, business leaders) on internal investigations; and
    • Manage relationships with outside counsel and legal service providers, enforcing budget discipline and innovating to achieve cost and operational efficiencies.



    • J.D. degree from an accredited law school;
    • 7-10+ years of labor and employment law and/or litigation experience in a large law firm or corporate legal department environment;
    • Employment litigation experience;
    • Ability to multi-task and deliver outstanding work product while managing a high volume of assignments with varying priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment;
    • Meticulous attention to detail; and
    • Ability to effectively communicate with business team, including translating complex technical and legal issues.
