The Director of Technology, Cloud Platform is responsible for providing the architecture, technical design and delivery of suite shared services on modern technology stacks allowing developers to build, operate, and deploy enterprise-scale software on Inovalon public and private cloud models; provide oversight for the output of the Cloud Platform Team ensuring the highest quality of platform services, software, transparency and predictability of releases, estimates and team velocity, and ensure adherence to the agile principles to facilitate customer value and time to market.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead Infrastructure Product Engineering’s Cloud Portfolio Team focused on enhancing our private cloud to align with the company’s overall technology and product strategies;
    • Lead the design and deployment of Inovalon’s ever-maturing Continuous Delivery and Integration tool chains;
    • Fill the role as the Product Owner of the cloud shared services team and represent the team in all PI SAFe train activities;
    • Participate with Company leadership in the strategic development of technology initiatives to identify data center, infrastructure, product and system enhancements which may improve operations efficiency, data center efficiency, client appeal, and business function;
    • Develop and maintain an expert level of knowledge regarding products and services of the Company to achieve product development and functionality requirements;
    • Managing and coordinating staff required for the achievement of the Company’s technology initiatives, operations, and functionality;
    • Define and manage Inovalon’s technical application standards and procedures as well as best practices related to the adoption of new application technologies utilizing DevOps tools to improve automation and collaboration;
    • Design and manage proofs-of-concept for new or improved enterprise-wide technologies that are used across multiple areas of the business;
    • Oversee technology team personnel, adherence to project timelines, and accountability for the data center and systems infrastructure;
    • Architect application solutions across multiple hardware and software computing environments and system components utilizing tools, technologies, and methodologies including web services, SOA, MicroServices and EAI/EI, as well as EA-specific methodologies and tools such as TOGAF and Zachman architecture frameworks;
    • Partnering with hardware and software vendors to ensure that near-term and long-term business needs are met; and
    • Develop staff members through continuous feedback, mentoring, annual goal planning and performance management.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field; or equivalent experience;
    • 10+ years of IT experience with at least 3 years’ experience in a management or leadership role of engineers;
    • Fluency with modern DevOps automation toolchains,  and modern containerization, orchestration, and virtualization technologies;
    • Passion for security and a strong understanding of threats, vulnerabilities and compliance standards;
    • Experience using source control tools – Microsoft Team Foundation Server, and Github;
    • 3+ years of experience with one or more Agile Software Engineering Practices such as Continuous Integration, unit testing, TDD, Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe framework;
    • Strong understanding of architecture patterns and operational characteristics of highly available and scalable applications;
    • Strong knowledge of cloud technologies;
    • Strong knowledge of automation and configuration managment technologies;
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
    • Strong project management skills, including prioritization, planning and coordination between multiple functional project teams;
    • Excellent time management skills with the ability to adapt to changing business priorities and operational demands; and
    • Extensive knowledge of existing industry standards, technologies, and operational norms.
