Overview

 

The Senior Business Analyst will support initiatives to identify health care operations improvement opportunities across a broad range of departmental and functional areas. Numerous techniques and methodologies will be applied to capture current state assessment, identification of prioritized opportunity areas, and support the development of executive-level action plan recommendations. This position interfaces with a cross-functional team of business experts, data analysts, technology systems analysts, operations and field staff, and department leads. 

 

The successful candidate will have experience in developing, monitoring and measuring operations systems and resources.  This candidate will also have experience writing intermediate to advanced level SQL queries to extract, interpret and present data for robust operations and financial reporting package as well as ad-hoc internal and external customer requests. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain an expert level of knowledge regarding products, services, infrastructure and operations of the organization to achieve optimal insight into Inovalon’s product development, capabilities, and functionality requirements;
  • Utilize industry standard analysis techniques such as data flow modeling, workflow analysis, and functional analysis;
  • Perform complex data analysis, including production of SQL queries, in support of ad-hoc and routine management or customer requests;
  • Provides accurate and appropriate interpretation of data, applying knowledge to evaluation, analysis and interpretation of data;
  • Develops appropriate methodologies for collecting, analyzing and presenting data products;
  • Assemble data analytical input, including charts, tables, graphs, and other analysis for executive-level presentations and client reporting;
  • Develop and maintain standards for operational tracking and reporting;
  • Assist in the development and management of a library of process maps, business requirements, and business artifacts;
  • Develop management system and workflows as well as perform operational tasks to support CRM tool, partner with cross-functional teams to ensure successful on-time delivery of data and reporting;
  • Participate in regular meetings with Product Management, Information Technology, Business and Operations Partners to facilitate the understanding, clarification, and implementation of provider engagemetn projects;
  • Provide any other product development, product validation, and client delivery related assistance in support of Inovalon’s strategic objectives;
  • Support business development opportunities in the expansion of products and services;
  • Work closely with various departments within the Prospective Advantage team to provide input into requirements that impact processes, procedures and workflows; and
  • While working with the Prospective Advantage team’s management, will proactively assess, promote and implement quality assurance management best practices as it relates to data.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or clinical related field required;
  • Analytic and reporting experience with health care data;
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and follow-up, meticulous organizationl skills;
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office, T-SQL, SQL Server and various reporting platforms;
  • Ability to quickly learn new products, systems, and operations;
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, to include effective listening skills;
  • Strong analytical problem solving skills;
  • Business analytical skills: process flows, spreadsheets, modeling, procedures;
  • Ability to set priorities and work on multiple tasks simultaneously; and
  • Work under minimal supervision on complex projects.
