    Inovalon, Inc., seeks Health Economics Outcomes Researcher for multiple openings.

    Responsibilities

    • Design and participate in clinical research studies and analyses in health economics, comparative effectiveness, performance measure development, outcomes research, and epidemiology to support external projects and internal research associated with Inovalon products and services;
    • Develop methodological strategies and address research design issues related to the analysis of large health care database such as administrative claims, survey data and other health care data;
    • Participate in the elaboration and estimation of proposed research studies, including development of detailed study design and protocols and estimation of time and effort involved in each task/deliverable;
    • Identify and develop solutions to key strategic business problems using high level modeling and statistical analyses techniques;
    • Identify appropriate data sources and define analytical research plans to manage data extraction and manipulate large health-care databases;
    • Perform descriptive and advanced statistical analysis using large retrospective patient/claim databases in support of predictive modeling and health outcomes research to improve existing products, internal operations, and support new product development; and
    • Conduct comprehensive literature reviews and develop executive summaries to support outcomes research studies. Prepare professional research reports, papers and presentations suited to a wide variety of audiences, including publication in scholarly journals.

    Qualifications

    • Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Economics, Informatics, Statistics, Epidemiology, Public Health, or related field of study, plus at least 3 years of experience in the job offered or experience as a Research Assistant, Fellow, or a related role. In lieu of a Master's degree plus 3 years of experience, Employer is willing to accept a PhD (All But Dissertation acceptable for selection) in Pharmaceutical Economics, Informatics, Statistics, Epidemiology, Public Health, or related field of study, plus 1 year of experience in the job offered or experience as a Research Assistant, Fellow, or a related role; and 
    • All applicants must have: (1) at least 1 year of HEOR experience analyzing large health claims and related health-care databases; (2) experience with study design, advanced statistical analysis, and program evaluation; and (3) experience with advanced, multivariate statistical estimation techniques and use of standard statistical software packages (e.g., SAS). Telecommuting available with at least one trip per quarter to the HQ office in Bowie, MD.
