We are seeking a Senior Manager, Business Unit Accounting to be responsible for managingthe accounting and control functions for Avalere, lead the establishment of a financial shared services center, and also lead the transition of the business units transactional work to the Shared Services center.

Responsibilities

  1. Manage the accounting activities of the Avalere business unit including managing and ensuring the accurate monthly, quarterly, year-end accounting closing activities, including review of various journal entries, variance analysis, income statement and balance sheet activity, audit schedule and financial statements;
  2. Ensure the results of the Avalere business unit are accurately reported including the coordination with the Corporate Accounting team;
  3. Lead financial accounting activities of the Avalere business unit including accounts payable, expense reporting, invoicing, collections and others, as needed;
  4. Ensure appropriate stewardship of the Avalere business unit by establishing and maintaining internal controls and participating in documentation and testing of key internal controls for business units;
  5. Develop and lead plan to establish a Corporate Financial Shared Services Center;
  6. Manage the transition of transactional functions and activities from Business Units to Corporate Financial Shared Services Center;
  7. Ensure the proper policies, procedures and internal controls are established in conjunction with the creation of the Corporate Financial Shared Services Center;
  8. Perform special projects, as required, to assist the business unit and the Company in achieving its goals and objectives;
  9. Develop and achieve accounting operational objectives preparing and completing action plans, resolving problems, completing audits, identifying trends, determining GL system improvements and implementing changes;
  10. Coordinate with FP&A to ensure an accurate and timely monthly and quarterly close along with the timely reporting of all monthly financial information in coordination with FP&A; and
  11. Manage and work with other team members to establish performance goals and objectives for each year as well as monitoring and advising on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor Degree in Accounting/Finance;
  2. Minimum 10 years accounting/finance experience, including managerial experience;
  3. Exceptional communication skills.
