The Business Analyst is an integral member of Inovalon’s Strategic Data Assets team. The person will function as a knowledge expert on healthcare data in Inovalon and its usage within the Inovalon’s product portfolios. The person will be instrumental in developing comprehensive business requirements and to collaborate closely in a hands-on manner with the development team to support the understanding, clarification, implementation and delivery of requirements; to support and enhance the Company’s strategic data assets.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other product teams to develop comprehensive business requirements (user stories) for the Company’s strategic data assets;
  • Own the grooming of product requirements with the development by gathering requirements from Product Stakeholders, Information Technology and Business Partners;
  • Collaborate closely and in a hands-on manner with the develop team to support the understanding, clarification, and implementation of requirements in the development environment;
  • Develop and manage a library of process maps, business requirements and business artifacts as required by Inovalon’s Agile Process;
  • Develop user flows diagrams and acceptance test plans, and serve as an expert to the Information’s Systems staff providing the quality assurance effort;
  • Develop and maintain an expert level of knowledge regarding products, services, infrastructure and operations of the Company to achieve optimal insight into the Company’s product development, capabilities, and functionality requirements;
  • Identify requirements via industry standard analysis techniques such as data flow modeling, workflow analysis and functional analysis in particular to Inovalon’s MORE2 Registry®;
  • Support the organizations data quality assessment effort via hands-on data analysis;
  • Pro-actively assess and identify data quality metrics to maintain the highest standards of effectiveness, efficiency and overall quality of healthcare data in Inovalon;
  • Develop and maintain standards for productivity tracking and reporting;
  • Support the Data Strategies team in fulfillment of new initiatives and activities as needed; and
  • Provide any other product development, product validation and client delivery related assistance in support of Inovalon’s strategic healthcare data assets.

Qualifications

  • Strong SQL and Data analysis skills required;
  • Masters/Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or equivalent experience is required. MHSA or MBA preferred;
  • At least 3 years of business analysis or data analysis experience required, preferably in healthcare;
  • Prior EHR / EMR experience preferred;
  • Strong analytical and problems-solving skills;
  • Knowledge of healthcare data and industry coding standards highly preferred;
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum environment a plus;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, to include effective listening skills;
  • Strong process flow designing skills;
  • Ability to set priorities and work on multiple tasks simultaneously;
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and follow up; and
  • Shows initiative to learn, dive deep into identifying solutions and deliver results.
