A Sr. SolarWinds Analyst is responsible for the installation, configuration and optimization of SolarWinds Orion and other enterprise systems management/monitoring platforms. A successful candidate for this position will provide leadership in monitoring and management, Enterprise systems fundamentals and provide root cause resolution to data-center server, network, and storage, database and application issues. In this role, you will utilize your understanding of industry best practice to ensure minimal downtime to our production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide systems availability monitoring and reporting/escalation services;
  • Provide systems diagnostics monitoring and reporting/escalation services;
  • Perform incident capture, verification, diagnostics and escalations;
  • Monitor the Remedy ticket queue and assign tickets according to SOPs;
  • Maintain knowledge base documentation;
  • Provide a timely response to customer queries for assistance;
  • Perform routine Data Center environment checks;
  • Maintaining and updating documentation of the enterprise environment;
  • Responding to all system and network problems and participate in root cause analysis involving Server, network and application issues;
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of all systems, inclusive of conceptual, logical and physical documentation; and
  • Analyzing system logs, identifying potential issues and troubleshooting any reported problems.

Qualifications

  • 2 or 4-year degree Information Technology, Systems Administration or Computer Science or a related technical field Or equivalent combination of education and related experience;
  • 3-5 years’ experience with SolarWinds: Installation, Managing, Configuring, Monitoring and troubleshooting;
  • SolarWinds Certified;
  • 1-2 years’ experience with Splunk: Managing, Configuring, Monitoring and troubleshooting;
  • Familiar with Active Directory administration, structure, permissions, and best practices;
  • Mid-Level Experience with Windows server – troubleshooting and some experience with Linux - know basic commands and troubleshooting;
  • Experience with Remedy, or another similar ticketing system is a plus;
  • Scripting experience, and must be comfortable with at least one scripting language and willing to learn PowerShell or others as required;
  • Must have higher than basic knowledge in at least one Non-Windows OS area (ie VMWare, SQL, Hadoop, AWS, Azure, Scripting, Linux, IIS, etc.);
  • Solid understanding of LAN/WAN technologies and software tools for performance monitoring and troubleshooting;
  • Must have a strong sense of team focus, partnership, and collaboration;
  • Possess a strong sense of ownership and urgency; the capacity to ensure a problem is not dropped, forgotten, or ignored. Not getting to the root cause of an issue annoys you.;
  • Participate in departmental on-call rotation; and
  • Demonstrated experience working in a 24/7 production support environment.
