The Senior Accountant will be responsible for a diverse range of duties to ensure issues and activities are accounted for accurately and timely. This requires a candidate who possesses a willingness to handle a broad view of financial accounting and reporting matters. Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial statements and support the general accounting process for external financial reporting;
  • Support the analysis of revenue recognition;
  • Researches and documents new contract terms and conditions;
  • Conducts technical accounting research for non-standard transactions;
  • Serve as a key member of the ASC 606 implementation team; provide for subsequent accounting;
  • Assist with evaluation of revenue implications for proposed contracts;
  • Prepare various reconciliations, analytical analyses, reserve calculations and balance sheet reconciliations for internal and external use;
  • Review monthly accruals and deferrals related to revenues;
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures; maintain compliance with a system of internal controls to ensure integrity of revenue reporting;
  • Prepare journal entries with referenced supporting documentation;
  • Prepare financial audit materials, and coordinate with the external auditor’s staff;
  • Interact with various levels of staff throughout the organization to obtain information and/or resolve issues for assigned tasks, accounts and/or legal entities;
  • Provides G/L research, input to strategic planning, and may lead special projects as necessary; and
  • Other ad hoc duties as required.

Qualifications

  • CPA required;
  • 5+ years of experience with accounting;
  • Experience in public accounting and/or publicly traded companies preferred;
  • Strong Excel and systems abilities;
  • Attention to detail and a sense of urgency;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, effective oral and written communication skills;
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, organizational savvy,  and strong initiative and the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines; and
  • Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP.
