The Storage Administrator under general supervision assists in planning, organization, design and management of storage systems and data protection systems. The Associate executes projects and evaluates hardware, software and user needs. This position works closely with systems and networking groups to ensure infrastructure data storage and protection is working smoothly with the entire enterprise. The Storage Administrator also ensures the systems run efficiently and are monitored effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Find, correlate and prevent, and own problems from incident to resolution, implementing emergency fixes;
  • Performs root cause analysis to ensure problems do not resurface;
  • Assist in development and execution of storage solutions to incidents backed by thorough testing and analysis;
  • Use tools to deploy and manage Inovalon’s rapidly expanding storage infrastructure;
  • Gather, and leverage metrics to prevent and uncover problems in the storage infrastructure before they emerge; and 
  • Support and implement project work led by Systems and Storage Administrators.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree (or equivalent required);
  • 8-10 years’ experience troubleshooting Windows Server, complex computing platforms, storage systems including SAN and NAS arrays, and/or cutting-edge technologies involving virtualization, distribution, and high availability;
  • Ability to manage complex situations and strong troubleshooter;
  • Knowledge of existing industry standards, technologies, and operational norms;
  • Experience with virtualization and Microsoft technologies required; and/or Linux, Cisco and VoIP experience, a plus; and
  • Experience with EMC storage arrays and Cisco Fabric Manager a plus.
