The HR Data Analytics Manager is responsible for delivering data and analytical insight to support and develop HR best practices.  The role will establish robust content that helps business and HR leaders better understand their storylines and trends regarding their workforce.


  • Collects and compiles HR metrics and data from a variety of sources including the human resource information system (HRIS) and payroll outputs, management and employee surveys, exit interviews, employment records, government labor statistics, competitor practices, and other sources
  • Analyzes data and statistics for trends and patterns with attention to recruitment, hiring practices, motivation, turnover, and compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Prepares reports of data results, presenting and explaining findings to senior leadership.
  • Identifies and recommends reasonable short- and long-term goals, milestones, and benchmarks for key performance metrics.
  • Works with stakeholders to understand business objectives to design analytic models to provide data insights to best support data-driven business decisions helping to maximize our investment in people.
  • Present methodology and conclusions of analyses to a variety of recipients including peers, management, and senior executive teams. Take the results of analyses and tell a story with the data to guide leaders in business decisions with the ability to explain details and high-level overviews depending on the audience.
  • Build partnerships with business leaders and with other functional analytics groups to increase awareness of available data, improve business acumen and analysis.
  • Works on cross-functional teams to understand reporting and metrics needs, providing consultation as necessary;
  • Maintain compliance with Inovalon’s policies, procedures and mission statement;
  • Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within Inovalon’s Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position;
  • Fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by Inovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of the Company; and

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7-10 years' relevant experience in analytical/quantitative business metrics and HR analytics
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to confidently present data-centric topics to spectrums of senior audiences
  • Demonstrable advanced analytics expertise in Excel
  • Demonstrable advanced skills in presentation development (PowerPoint) and data narration / storytelling
  • A business-outcome orientation with ability to clearly, articulate and present actionable outputs from large data inputs


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Management, IT, required.


Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Sedentary work ( i.e. sitting for long periods of time) Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force ;
  • Frequently or constantly to lift, carry push, pull or otherwise move objects and repetitive motions;
  • Subject to inside environmental conditions; and
  • Travel for this position will include less than 5% locally usually for training purposes.
