Overview

Inovalon is seeking a Director, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to bring their passion, innovative ideas, and best practices to champion a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace culture at Inovalon!

 

The Director, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion's primary role is to ensure the company's culture and business practices, such as sourcing, hiring, development, and overall strategy, are equitable and inclusive for all employees. In partnership with the Chief People Officer, the incumbent will provide services and solutions to help enable a more engaged and inclusive work environment. This role will lead and manage all diversity, equity, and inclusion programs and initiatives and educate on DE&I best practices internally.

Responsibilities

  • Develop & implement enterprise-wide diversity, equity, and inclusion programs and policies leveraging macro-trends, research, analysis and benchmarks across our diverse workforce, in partnership with key stakeholders and internal business partners.
  • Provide consultation to key leadership in developing and integrating diversity, equity, and inclusion goals and strategies into all business and planning processes.
  • Align diversity, equity, and inclusion goals and initiatives focused on recruiting, retention and leadership development with business objectives.
  • In partnership with the Chief People Officer, represent the organization and serve as subject matter expert on diversity-related topics at business meetings, external and internal conferences, and professional organizations.
  • Drive education campaigns at the grassroots level to help drive business decisions from key stakeholders that promote diversity, equity, and Inclusion programs by educating leaders, managers and staff on the importance and value that our diverse employees bring.
  • Partner with Talent Operations in developing metrics, dashboards and applicable reports that create transparency and accountability for diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
  • Partner with Marketing & Communications to design the marketing and communication of programs and updates to ensure awareness, outreach, and relevance.
  • Collaborate with the DE&I Steering Committee and DE&I Employee Advisory Group on proactive DE&I initiatives.
  • Create a model in partnership with Talent Acquisition that drives recruiting and hiring practices, free of unconscious bias.
  • Provide leadership support and coaching to our Employee Networks (Business Resource Groups.) Align our Employee Networks to the diversity and inclusion strategy to drive positive business outcomes.
  • Maintain knowledge of diversity-related issues and best practices while adhering to all compliance and regulatory requirements;
  • Maintain compliance with Inovalon’s policies, procedures and mission statement;
  • Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within Inovalon’s Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position;
  • Fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by Inovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of the Company;

Qualifications

  • Minimum eight (8) years of progressive, consultative experience with focus on identifying areas of opportunity and driving change;
  • Proven, progressive experience and demonstrated effectiveness leading DE&I related initiatives and programs;
  • Previous project management experience as well as using data and analytics to drive change;
  • Demonstrated organization, facilitation, written and oral communication and presentation skills;
  • Ability to lead DE&I transformational initiatives in a complex and dynamic environment, utilizing project management techniques;
  • Ability to drive organizational change;
  • Focused and influential communication style;
  • Success building business relationships, strong business skills and proven leadership in developing, implementing and supporting DE&I solutions;
  • Direct experience effectively communicating DE&I initiatives to Senior Leadership Teams with a demonstrated return on investment;
  • Demonstrated skills in collaboration, teamwork, and problem-solving to achieve goals;
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, state and federal guidelines;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and possess a strong knowledge of diversity metrics and analytics;
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure;
  • Ability to prioritize and organize effectively; and
  • Ability to show judgment and initiative and to accomplish job duties.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Communication or other related fields or equivalent experience.

Preferred Education:

  • Certification in Diversity and Inclusion, Project Management, Change Management, and/or Human Resources.
