The Staff Paralegal is responsible for providing general administrative and contract support to the Legal Department.


  • Draft and review standard corporate and commercial documents for attorney review including, but not limited to, master service agreements, non-disclosure agreements, amendments, vendor contracts and contract extensions;
  • Analyze contract trends; drafts, and reviews contract terms and conditions with vendors and other third parties to ensure contract language conformity to legal specifications and internal policies;
  • Monitor shared Legal Department electronic mailbox; track incoming/outgoing correspondence and issue status; notify appropriate parties as needed
  • Maintain Legal Department spreadsheets and other databases as directed by Legal Department members;
  • Assure that contracts and related documents are properly labeled, organized, and stored;
  • Assist with management of litigation matters, including subpoena requests;
  • Prepare correspondence and reports;
  • Other tasks and projects upon request and approval by Legal Department management;
  • Maintain compliance with Inovalon’s policies, procedures and mission statement;
  • Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within Inovalon’s Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position;
  • Fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by Inovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of the Company;
  • Uphold responsibilities relative to the separation of duties for applicable processes and procedures within your job function; and

  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience as a legal assistant, paralegal or equivalent (i.e., working in a law firm in various roles)
  • Experience providing administrative support in a corporate legal environment is preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including: Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint
  • Capable of handling multiple requests with a sense of urgency, accuracy and professionalism
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Team player with the ability to interact effectively with all parts of the organization
  • Ability to follow directions and adhere to departmental procedures and standards
  • Dependability and accountability
  • Ability to keep sensitive information confidential
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
